On the 9th of March we started our first filming scene outside Georgia’s house of people paying their respects to dead character Georgia.
Starting time- 5pm
Finishing time- 6pm
Roles- Matthew, Asher and Tobi (The boyfriend
& his brother and good friend going to
pay their respects), Emmanuel (Stalker of Matthew). Me, Jahquani,
Georgia and Tyler – rotated around filming, setting up and directing.
Before we started filming we had to set the scenery with props such as 3 types of tulip flowers, teddy bears and a picture of Georgia with her birth date and death day on it.
We made a few changes which included us adding two more characters to the opening scene
Asher Christie (brother of Matthew - who is accompanying Matthew to Georgia’s shrine.
Tobi Ogundipe – Toby is only in the opening scene accompanying Matthew on the way to Georgia’s shrine.
We also changed the establishing shot and a few other parts of the opening shot
On set there is : Tyler,Georgia,Me,Jahquani,Emmanuel,Tobi and Asher
Even though we had a very successfully day we did have to do 9 takes before it was perfect.
Everyone initially arrived at 3pm to Georgia’s house except
Jahquani who was at an appointment and joint us later. We started off with a technical
problem as the camera need to be charge and also the printer was malfunctioning
as we need to print out a picture of Georgia for the shrine; both these things
took up a vast majority of time that delayed us to start at 5pm.
When setting up we faced issues with the wind as it kept
blowing out the candles we lit so we left them unlit, another thing that
delayed us was getting the picture to stay stuck on the tree as the tape we
used wouldn’t house it was had to go search Georgia’s house for stronger tape.
After all this we were finally ready to start filming around
a brief talk to the crew about what was needed to be done, how, where and when.
We were off shooting but this didn’t get done easily as it took 9 takes to
complete as it was our first time filming and to get what we wanted right.
We also did 2 bloopers to test the camera quality and review how it would look. Will soon be uploaded...
WWW- What went well:
·
The shrine looked realistic and believable
·
The weather work with our initial idea of low
key lighting
·
The camera positioning and angles used as we
were amateurs
EBI- Even better if:
·
Debriefed actors in-depth of what we expected of
them before hand
